For Kate, CrossFit meant finding a long term fitness routine she could stick with, increased confidence and grit! Through hard work and consistency, she has also changed her relationship with food.
Read on to hear more about Kate’s journey in her own words.
What are you the most proud of accomplishing?
Showing up and putting in the work. I had never found a consistent long term exercise routine until CrossFit. I would do a few months of yoga or the gym, then get bored or sidetracked and move on to something else.
How has life in the gym affected life outside the gym?
I am so much happier and more confident. CrossFit came into my life during a season of change and personal growth. Building confidence in my ability to keep going translated to mental strength too. Now even the most grueling workout sets a positive tone for the rest of my day. I know if I can handle the workout, I can handle whatever else the day brings.
Why give SRCF a try?
Prior to joining SRCF, I started the year with couch 2 5K, with a goal of running and walking a 10 mile race on my 37th birthday in August. I finished just within the 3 hour time cap, and then lost all running motivation without a new goal to work towards. I was very intimidated by my ideas of CrossFit, but decided to give it a try, hoping to find accountability and a community of people who were also interested in self improvement. My goal for the first year was simple: Show up. 3 times a week, I would be there. I didn’t look at the workouts ahead of time because they made me too anxious! Now I look forward to seeing what’s in store for the next day. My mental and physical health has never been better, and I’m excited to continue to improve.
You are amazing Kate! Keep up all the hard work!
