For as long as I can remember I have been moving my body in various ways other than team sports such as running, biking, hiking, and skiing. I always enjoyed the feeling of pushing myself and the sense of accomplishment afterward, I really found my competitive side with endurance mountain bike racing. Although I was dedicated to my time in the gym to keep myself in physical and mental shape it was something I just showed up for out of necessity, however, I loved teaching Spinning at that same time.
At some point, I started to see CrossFit on social media and a few people I knew were participating locally. It looked like fun, really hard, and probably something was just out of reach for me, although I had been a successful endurance racer, I didn't consider myself very strong or coordinated and I was a bit intimidated but I knew I wanted to try something new. I immediately knew I had made the right decision, it's not often as adults we get to learn brand new things. CrossFit turned out to be challenging, humbling, frustrating, empowering, affirming, and the best kind of addictive best of all I found an incredibly supportive community of people who all have different reasons for doing the same thing. I love that I can tap into my need to satisfy my competitive nature on some days and on other days I can feel good about getting my body moving and everything in between.
I have laughed, cried, cheered, sweat, struggled, celebrated, practiced, learned, grown, dug deep, failed, succeeded, and so much more alongside the best community around. As a coach, I get my greatest pleasure from playing a part in helping my fellow athletes with something they've been struggling with and cheering that success! I am humbled to be a trusted member of this amazing team!
